We have developed a Kit of Parts approach across our HAFF projects — repeatable, adaptable building systems that use modular thinking to respond to different sites and contexts while maintaining design quality and efficiency. The challenge is delivering consistency in performance and construction while allowing each project to respond to its specific place and community. We’re learning how HAFF’s funding model and shorter delivery timeframes support this approach in ways that weren’t previously possible at this scale.

Briefs are stronger, governance structures are clearer, and multidisciplinary teams are collaborating earlier. We’re learning that when everyone expects social and affordable housing to lead in design quality and place-making, the entire delivery model shifts.
Many HAFF projects draw on strategically held land and long-term partnerships.
