Located in a beautifully refurbished heritage building in Melbourne’s CBD, our Melbourne team are passionate about delivering great projects, building solid relationships with our clients, and, importantly, doing this all while fuelled by good coffee. Originally formed in 1997 to deliver arguably one of Melbourne’s largest master planning projects, NewQuay, we continue to be involved in the design and delivery of key design projects of significance across Victoria.

Role overview:
Plus Studio is looking for an experienced Senior Project Architect to join our Melbourne team to oversee and lead the development and day-to-day management of multiple or complex projects. We value versatility across sectors and stages, but above all, a sharp eye for design and detail.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and lead the development and day-to-day management of multiple or complex projects
• Key relationship management of both external and internal stakeholders
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget with regular updates on project progress, risks identification and mitigation
• Deliver all contractual requirements of projects and ensure all regulatory requirements are met
• Contribute to the design of projects and ensure the design intent is succinctly captured and interpreted into a practical plan for successful delivery and execution
• Lead, manage and develop architectural teams of up to 5 people to ensure optimum performance levels are met through sound leadership and management
• Provide contract administration for the construction of projects including administering standard form construction contracts and monitoring compliance with contract documents
• Generate architectural design through the exercise of knowledge, imagination, judgement and professional responsibility across concept, schematic and detailed design phases
• Generate documentation and clearly communicate information for architectural projects so that they can be costed, built and completed in accordance with the brief, time frame, cost and quality objectives

Requirements:
• Bachelor of Architecture (or equivalent tertiary qualification in Architecture)
• Must be a Registered Architect within the practising state
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Senior Architect position in the respective scale and type of work
• High level of proficiency in Revit
• Commercial understanding of project brief and project budget
• Sound knowledge of the total project process including fees, team and resource management
• Demonstrated capability in the financial aspects of running a project on time and to budget
• Comprehensive knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, National Construction Code and local planning regulations
• Client relationship management capability
• Conflict resolution, persuasion and negotiation skills
• Proven ability to lead, develop and competent in managing multiple project teams
• Organisational skills, time management and the ability to prioritise projects and tasks with capability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
